Wynona I. Maxey Walker passed away Thursday, July 28, 2005 at her home. She was born March 7, 1923 in the Jones-State Center area to Clarence A. Maxey and Dorothy I. Gillespie and attended school at State Center School where she was valedictorian of her graduating class. On September 27, 1941 at Kingfisher, Oklahoma, she married Raymond Dean Walker, who preceded her in death on July 27, 1991. She resided in Ponca City, Oklahoma from 1951 until 1971 when her family moved to Sulphur, Louisiana. The Trinity Lutheran Church was her church home there and she was very active in church activities. It was in Louisiana that Wynona began her hobbies of oil painting and making porcelain dolls. On October 10, 1998, she married J. Wayne Beal in Oklahoma City and made Oklahoma City her home. She attended Leland Clegg United Methodist Church and volunteered at Skyline Urban Ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dean, her sisters Cleta I. Burke and Mary L. Asbery, and her brother Dr. C. O. Maxey. Surviving her are her husband Wayne Beal; three daughters Paula Pralle and husband Leroy of Salina, KS, Alison Land of Bethany, OK, and Gwen and Don Dean of Park Hill, OK; two sons Allen and wife Carmen Walker of Lake Charles, LA, and Jeff and wife Joanna Walker of Lake Charles, LA; two step-daughters Nancy Miller of Tulsa, OK and Diane McClure of Oklahoma City, OK;
14 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Five children couldn't have had a more wonderful mother, she was our friend, our source of guidance and support, our role model for loving, parenting, kindness and compassion. Our loss will be eased by the lifetime of memories she has given us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Skyline Urban Ministry or to Leland Clegg United Methodist Church, 102 E. Hefner Road, Oklahoma City, OK. Services will be held Monday, August 1, 2005 at 11:00 A.M., at Leland Clegg United Methodist Church.
