Daughter of George Walter "Richard" and Margarett Ann "Annie" (Askins) Pitcock and married Edmond Burgett. Her obituary follows:

Martha Ann Pitcock Burgett, 73, passed away September 18, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Burgett and parents, Richard W, and Margarette Askins Pitcock.

Mrs. Burgett was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee. She was retired from BellSouth and was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Hood, and her husband, Tommy, of Fairview; sisters, Etta Smith of Nashville and Mary Edde of the Harpeth Community; as well as grandsons, Tommy (Crystal) Hood, Jr., and his wife, Crystal, and Alex Hood.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
