...Charles Foster Anderson was born at Agency City, Wappello county, Iowa, Dec. 18, 1848. When he was a small child his family moved to Birmingham, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. December 31,1868 he was united in marriage to Catherine Jane Skelly. To this union nine children were born, three of whom have preceded him to the Great Beyond.
...Beside his companion of more then fifty years there are left to mourn his departure, Mrs. William G. Schoof, of Council Grove, Kan., Mrs. M. S. McCaslin, Keenan, Okla., C. G. Anderson, Council Grove, Kansas, Mrs. Solomon D. Dice, Fall River, Kansas, and O. R. Anderson, Olathe, Kansas, and twenty-five grandchildren, with many neighbors and friends.
...Mr. Anderson came to Jewell County,in 1878. In March 1886 he came to Morris county, where he has made his home every since, in or near Council Grove.
...After a painful illness of several months he peacefully departed this life at the home of his son, C. G. Anderson, at 5 p.m. August 3, 1923, aged 74 yers 7 months and 21 days.
...Funeral services were held at the home, conducted by Rev. A.W. Way of Wilsey after which interment was made in the Four Mile cemetery.
