Harry Brashaw was born June 4, 1925, in Ogdensburg, a son of George and Dorothy Golden Brashaw, he served in the Navy during World War II, working on submarines. Mr. Brashaw owned and operated Harry's Taxi from the 1950s until retiring in 1975 because of a disability. He also worked for Ogdensburg schools, transporting handicapped children.

He was a member of the Masonic Temple, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and First United Methodist Church.

He married Shirley Wood on Oct. 15, 1965, in Ogdensburg. A previous marriage, to Glenna Baker on June 5, 1950, in Ogdensburg, ended in divorce.

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Linda Vernsey and Cherie Brashaw, both of Ogdensburg, and Corlin Burrell, Clifton Park; six grandchildren, a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, John and Robert, died before him.
