Betty Nadine Cayton was born on September 27, 1924 to parents Florence (Steele) and Zena Cayton in Lodi, California. She was the third out of four children. She married Carlos "Carl" Wilson Anderson on January 24, 1942. They resided in San Francisco, California and together they had three children; Raymond Carl, Nancy Estelle, and Walter James. She was one of the first female taxi drivers in San Francisco, a fact that she was proud of. She passed away from heart disease on October 5, 1979.
Betty was predeceased by her parents and her sister Jeanne.
Betty was survived by her husband Carl; children Raymond, Nancy, and Walter; sisters Estella and Lorraine; grandchildren Matthew, John, and Sandra. Another granddaughter, Diana, was born three and a half years after her death.
