HUSTONTOWN, Pennsylvania, USA - Elden M. "Bob" Grissinger, 72, of HCR 73, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 1996, at his home in Taylor Township, Fulton County, Pennsylvania. Born April 18, 1924, in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, USA, he was the son of the late Ernest and Bertha Cromwell Grissinger.

He retired in 1988 as a sheet metal worker. He also farmed. A veteran of World War II, he served in the South Pacific aboard the U.S. S. Kidd, Navy Destroyer, from 1943 to 1946.

He attended Dublin Mills Community Church, Hustontown.

He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 19, Philadelphia; James W. Bowers Lodge 173 A.F.&A.M., Hancock; Harrisburg Consistory; and Jaffa Shrine, Altoona, Pennsylvania, USA

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hess Grissinger, whom he married on Jan. 17, 1948; two daughters, Karen L. Long, New Grenada, PA; Amy J. Patterson, Maddensville, PA; one son, Stephen G. Grissinger, Dublin Mills, PA; four sisters, Helen Goschke and Mary Jane Graham, both of Beaver, PA; Doris Shore, Brunswick, OH; and Virginia Hurd, Cheyenne, WY; three brothers, Wayne Grissinger, Three Springs, PA; Jack Grissinger, North Ridgeville, OH; and Jerry Grissinger of Newark, DE; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Grissinger; one sister, Dorothy; and one brother, Sam.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Dublin Mills Community Church, Hustontown. Pastor Sam Stoey will officiate. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs, where military graveside services will be conducted by Fulton Honor Guard. Friends may call at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, today from 9 to 11 a.m. and at the church today from 1 to 2 p.m.
