Thomas Nephew was born at Finch, Canada, March 5, 1845, and died Feb. 8, 1919, at his residence in Sawyer, N.D., being 73 years old at the time of his death.
He made his home in Canada until 1867 when he moved to Northfield. On Sept. 20, 1871, he was united in marriage to Miss Ann I. Whitson. To them were born four children, three sons and one daughter, Elmer J., Wilmer J., Otis T., and Mabel L. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, one son, Elmer J. of Valley City, N.D., and daughter, Mrs. Mabel Fullmer, and five grandchildren. The children who preceded their father in death were buried at Northfield.
After a short service at the Congregational church the remains were taken to the old home for burial, accompanied by Mrs. Nephew and son, Elmer.
The deceased united with the Congregational church at Northfield and when moving to the new home in Sawyer in 1905 united with the Congregational church of that place, where he was a faithful member. Mr. Nephew was a man of sterling character and leaves many friends who extend their sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.
Mrs. Nephew is a sister of Robert and Russell Whitson of this city.
