At two o'clock Wednesday morning, March 26, the Angel of Death visited the home of Mr. W.R. Duncan and carried away his loving wife, Bell Milwee. For a number of years she was crippled with rheumatism, and toward the later years of her life with other physical troubles, but through all her suffering, she was patient and bravely bore her affliction; forgetting all earthly troubles, she saw a fairer light, and she could smile courageously, knowing that in God's good time, He would relieve her of all care.
Mrs. Duncan was born in 1845 and early in life gave herself to the service of her Christ by joining the Christian church. In. 1868 she was happily married to Mr. P.E. Loyd. She became the fond mother of three children, Sally, Sam, and Lucian, Sally and Sam having been called to their reward some years ago. After her first husband's death, she was married to Mr. W.R. Duncan. Only two of four children survive, Mrs. 0.B. Abernathy and Milwee Duncan.
Mrs. Duncan had a host of friends and was admired and loved by all who knew her for her kindly and cherry disposition. She will be greatly missed in the community where she had lived for a number of years. Her life may be an example of the words of St. Paul: "But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ."
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved.
