He was the husband of Helen Graff they were married on 05 Jul 1966 in Wise County, Virginia and did not have children.

He operated a small grocery store on old Route 52 and the corner of Walburn Ave. in Franklin Furnace, Ohio called "Mack's". After Mack died in 1975, the store became "Blanton & Graff's" with Helen and her brother Johnny running the store together.

Service for Mack Blanton, 57, of Franklin Furnace, are to be held at 2 pm Sunday at Baker Funeral Home in Ironton. Mack died at 10:00 am Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV. A native of Salyersville, KY, he had resided in the Franklin Furnace area the last 40 years. A veteran of World War II, he was part owner of the Blanton and Graff Grocery Store in Franklin Furnace. Surviving are his wife, Helen Graff Blanton; three brothers, John Blanton of Franklin Furnace, Paul Blanton of Portsmouth and Walter Blanton of South Shore, KY, and four sisters, Mrs. John (Eva) Bays of Franklin Furnace, Mrs Rose Spradlin of Sciotodale, Mrs John (Betty) Valentine of Portsmouth and Mrs. Bill (Irene) Ost of Monroe, Mich. Rev. Arnold Bailey will officiate at services. Burial is to be in Junior Furnace Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p m. Saturday.
