Gladys L. Sides, 76, Calvert City, Kentucky, formerly of Congerville, Illinois, died June 20, 2008, at Calvert City Convalescent Center. She was born September 14, 1931 to LeRoy Fremont and Nellie Mae Blakeney Carpenter.
She married Samuel Elonzo "AL" Sides, on November 17, 1951 in Bloomington, Illinois and he preceded her in death August 22, 1963.
Survivors: one son, Samuel Lee; one daughter, Connie (Noah) Clatt; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Leroy (Billie) Carpenter; and one sister, Luella Rebel. She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy.
