Thomas Gabriel Burkhart, A watchman for the Pennsy at Kittaning Point, died at 2 o'clock this morning at Altoona Hospital of uremic poisoning. He was taken ill on Sunday and was removed to the hospital from his home, 302 Poe Place, Llyswen, on Tuesday afternoon.

He was born near Eldorado, this county, on November 17, 1854, and was employed for 35 years by the Pennsy. He was for years a track walker at Kittaning Point, being a watchman up until his retirement.

He was married 42 years ago to Miss Mary Miller, who survives together with nine children: Robert of this city, Harvey of Blacklick, Levi, James, Mahlon, Mrs. Frank Brubaker, and Mrs Herbert Wilt, all of this city, and Mrs. John Spade of Gallitzin, and Mrs. Levi Hoover of Duncansville. Surviving also are a brother Clinton, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Vincent Schreiber and Miss Anna Burkhart, all of Altoona, and a half sister, Mrs. Ella Hahn, and a half brother, Mr. William Brubaker, both of this city, together with 29 grandchildren. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren.
