As I stand here beside you-
at your low and silent grave,
Beneath it lies one so dearly loved-
But who we could not save.
You left behind some broken hearts-
That loved you most sincere,
They never did and never will-
Forget you, Mother Dear.
We thought of you today,
but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
and the day before that too.
We think of you in silence,
and we often speak your name.
But all we have is memories,
and a picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
from which we'll never part.
God holds you in his arms now,
but we hold you in our heart.
