Mary Evelyn Hinde passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 14, 2007.

Mrs. Hinde was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Fanning in 1915; her father, Reagan E. Brewer in 1947; and by her beloved husband of 57 years, Thomas G. Hinde in 1989.

She was born on August 26, 1914 in Hope, NM. Mrs. Hinde attended school in Albuquerque, graduating from Albuquerque High School and the University of New Mexico. Mrs. Hinde resided most of her married life in Albuquerque. Mr. Hinde's occupation took them to Roswell in 1962.

While there, she taught school and worked as the Director of Education in the first United Methodist Church. Mr. Hinde's job took them back to Albuquerque in 1970. She worked for a short time at Christ Methodist Church.

Mr. Hinde retired in 1972, and the two of them traveled extensively until his death.

Mrs. Hinde was survived by two daughters and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Hinde was active in many organizations. She was a Past Matron of San Marcial Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Albuquerque, a Past Matron of Jessamine Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Belen, Past Worthy High Priestess of Albuquerque Shrine #1 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Past President of the Albuquerque Past Matrons Club, Past President of the Belen Past Matrons Club, Member of Yucca Temple Daughters of the Nile and Associate Member of the Manzano Club of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church and Member of the Honored Ladies organization.
