Mary Belle (Wise) Jones-Shreckengost
Mary B. Shreckengost, 83, of 1531 6th Place SE, Mason City, died Sunday afternoon (Oct 14, 2001) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00AM today at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 South Pennsylvania, Mason City, with the Rev. Bill Poland, senior pastor, officiating. Internment will be in the Bohemian Cemetery in Plymouth.
Visitation was held on Wednesday at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St. SE, and will be held again one hour prior to services today at the church.

Mary was born April 5, 1918, one of eight children of Strother and Sarah (Hill) Wise at Titonka, Iowa. She attended school at Mason City High School and Plymouth High School. She was a lifelong resident of Mason City.
She was united in marriage to Fred Charles Jones on September 21, 1935 in Mason City. He preceded in her in death on January 20, 1972. She later married Cecil Shreckengost on March 1, 1973. Cecil also preceded her in death March 4, 1996.
Mary was employed in the Central Supply department of Park Hospital for 13 years, retiring in 1971.
Mary was a long time member of Wesley United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Women of the Moose.
Her time was lovingly used in sharing with her family and traveling with them. She was also a fabulous cook and baker.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Lorraine Arhart of Shrevport, LA, three sons; Roland and his wife LaVonne Jones, Walter R. and his wife Cathy Jones, and L Steven Jones all of Mason City. Three sisters; Iva Flynn of Mason City, Bonnie and her husband Ralph of Iowa Falls, Sarah and her husband tad of Fort Meyers, Florida, and one brother, Strother Wise of Las Vegas, Nevada. Fifteen grandchildren, and thirty-three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred, her second husband, Cecil. One daughter Barbara Jones; one granddaughter, Robin Clem; one great grandon, Cameron T. Jones; two sisters, Helen Ayres and Lucille Estal; and one brother GB Wise. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one son-in-law Charles Arhart.
