Funeral services for Travis E. Holley, 83, of Sulphur Springs will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in West Oaks Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Fred Lewis and Dr. David Hardage officiating.
Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
Mr. Holley died Friday afternoon in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 10, 1915, in Hunt County to John H. and Winnie Ophelia Young Holley. He served with the U.S. Army in World War II, and married Mildred Pauline "Polly" Luckey in 1946 in Waco. He was a retired line crew foreman with TU Electric, retiring in 1978 after 42 years with the company. He had resided in Sulphur Springs since 1990 and was a member of First Baptist Church, the Busy Men's Bible Class and Bruton Conner Masonic Lodge in Dallas.
Mr. Holley is survived by a sister, Jean Corbin of Sulphur Springs.
He was preceded in death by his wife on March 30, 1999, four sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Greg Luckey, Terry France, Vernon Davis, Bill Deaton, Charles Charles and Don Deaton. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Radio Bible Class of First Baptist Church.
No formal visitation is planned but friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. Sunday until shortly before the service.
