The following information was sent by Tony Klingensmith: Corporal, Company M, 18th Pennsylvania Cavalry. Also served in Company B, 179th Pennsylvania Infantry from November 5, 1862 to until his transfer to the 18th Pennsylvania Cavalry on November 17, 1862. Wounded in action at Opequon, Virginia, on September 19, 1864. At war's end, the 18th Pennsylvania Cavalry and the 22nd Pennsylvania Cavalry were consolidated to form the 3rd Pennsylvania Provisional Cavalry. Anthony was mustered out with Company F, 3rd PA Provisional Cavalry on October 31, 1865. Died at Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania, probably of disease or injury after the war. Also listed as Heeder.
