She is survived by two sons, Rick L. Avery of Morris, and Randy (Georgia) Avery of Petersburg; two brothers, Jack (Sally) Hunt of Galesburg, and Dennie (Lori) Hunt of Alexis; one sister, Sharon (Chet) Gilbert of Petersburg; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and one son, Monty.
She owned and operated Avery's Shoe Mart in Petersburg with her husband Rex for 10 years. She was a member of New Salem Assembly of God Church.
She loved sports and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Illini fan.
Funeral service will be at noon Saturday, June 14, at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. The Rev. Rick Fleenor will be officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
