Laura married Ernest Ruff November 8, 1910, in Scribner, Nebraska.
Laura married Dr. Herman C. Groeteke Feb. 14, 1938, in Fremont, Nebraska. They lived in Columbus where Laura was organist at St. Bonaventure Catholic church, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son Lloyd C. Ruff of Broken Bow, Nebraska [died in Scottsdale, AZ in 2000], and a daughter Roma, Mrs. Asa Pollard of Clarks.

The marriage of Dr. H.C. Groeteke, well-known Columbus veterinarian, and Mrs. Laura E. Ruff, of Fremont, which took place Monday, Feb. 14, at Kansas City, Kan., was announced this week. Following the wedding ceremony, Dr. and Mrs. Groeteke took a several-day's wedding trip through Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri, Dr. Groeteke is the son of Mrs. Mina Groeteke of North Bend, and Mrs.
Groeteke is the daughter of George Nolan of Fremont. They were both reared in the Webster neighborhood in Dodge county. Dr. Groeteke has resided in Columbus for the last 14 years, and is a prominent veterinarian in this community. Mrs. Groeteke will join him here in making their home after March 1. ---Columbus Daily Telegram
