Jerry Cecil Eley Cecil was the son of William Anderson and Evie Wheelhouse Eley, one of 8 surviving children. His grandparents were Francis Marion and Harriet Catherine Mangrum. His maternal grandparents were Joshua and Roberta Turner Wheelhouse. When Cecil was just a tiny baby learning to walk, he danced and danced to the music of the Mangrum kin when they visited the Eley home. He was married to Mary Frances Carlton,on Dec. 3, 1939, at the home of his brother-in-law, Edward Harper, minister. Frances was the daughter of David Clayton and Maggie Smotherman Carlton. They had two daughters, Lynda Loretta Eley Chunn (Floyd) and Rita Gay Eley Ralston (Edwin).
Cecil was a carpenter, Frances was a house wife and they lived in the Rover community. Cecil died Nov. 29, 1971 following a cerebral hemorrhage, and was buried at the Cothran Cemetery at Rover.

Survivors also include: mother, Evie Eley; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph Snell (Ruby) Mrs, Edward Harper (Gladys), Chapel Hill, and Mrs. Lester Lowe (Evylin); four brothers, Thomas Clay Eley and G.L. Eley, both of Shelbyville, William Fl Eley, Decatur, Ala, and James Morton Eley, Corinth, Miss, and 4 grandchildren.
