DEATH SUMMONS JOHN McFARLING
Services to Be Held Monday Morning for Laborer 67 Years Old
A lingering illness of one year ended in death at a nursing home here this morning for John Sherman McFarling, 67 years old of 1202 West Twenty-second St. He was a laborer.
Born in Missouri on May 20, 1872, he moved to Iowa when a young man, working on a farm there and later transferring to Wessington Springs, S.D., where he lived until his arrival in Sioux Falls 16 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning in the Miller funeral chapel with Dr. Irving E. Putnam, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Mrs. C. B. VanAusdall will be the organist and burial will be in Davis, S.D.
Pallbearers will include Frank Yeager, Clifford Byllesby, John Mikkelson, Lowell VanGerpen, Clifford Babcock and Walter Yeager.
Survivors include his widow, two step-daughters, Mrs. John Mikkelson and Mrs. C. L. Byllesby, both of Sioux Falls, and one stepson, Chester Hankins, Freeman, S. D. There are 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.
