Samuel Simpson Beaman was born in Indiana the son of James Beaman and Lydia Helm. He married Sina Hodge on January 12, 1859 in Owen County, Indiana. She died November 8, 1877. Harrison, son of Samuel and Sina, who died in infancy after only 13 days is also buried with his parents.

He married Mary Elizabeth Cornelia on February 7, 1878 in Christian County, Illinois. She died November 10. 1909.

On September 7, 1910 he married Mary Catherine Cruikshank (widow of Louis Lucky) in Irving, Illinois. She died May 22, 1917. Her initials and dates of birth and death are engraved on the back of the tombstone.

All three of Samuels wife are buried next to him in Antioch Cemetery.

Samuel died April 16, 1931 in Christian County, Illinois at the age of 93. Samuel was a veteran of the Civil War.

AGED MAN DIES

Samuel Beaman, aged 93 years and 8 months, died at 10:05 o'clock Thursday morning, April 16th, at the home of his son, three miles south of Morrisonville, following an illness of two weeks.

The deceased was the last of a family of twelve children. He was born in Cataract, Indiana, on August 16, 1837, and went to Nokomis in 1866. He was married three times, and all his wives preceded him in death.

Mr. Beaman left eight children, thirty-two grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, making a total of seventy-two descendants living. The children are: William Beaman, of Nokomis; Mrs. Ida Bangart, of Witt; Mrs. Carrie Fowler, of Nokomis; Grover Beaman, of Peoria; Ben Beaman, of Pratt, Kansas; Glenn Beaman, of Morrisonville, and Mrs. Jessie Nolan, of Decatur.

The funeral was held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, at the M.E. Church in Morrisonville, of which the deceased was a member. He was a veteran of the Civil War, and the funeral services were in charge of the American Legion. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery.
