Laura Mae Willoughby, 87, lifelong Texhoma resident passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2008 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon.
The daughter of George Wilbur and Ola Merrill (Newby) Royse, she was born April 4, 1921 in rural Texhoma, Oklahoma. Laura Mae attended school at the Sunny Side School in Texhoma and the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Snowden A Burrow, Jack Crabtree and George Vincent Willoughby; an infant son, George Daniel Burrow; her parents, George and Ola Royse; one sister, Maycle Almena Gore; and five brothers: Ed, Charles , Russell, Frank Willard Royse and Lawrence E Royse.
Survivors include one son, Keith Burrow and wife, Darla of Texhoma, Texas; three grandchildren: David Burrow of Texhoma, Texas, JoLynda and husband, Curtis Woodbury of Hooker, Oklahoma, and Snowden Burrow and wife, Macee of Texhoma, Texas. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren: Levi, Lindsey and Jessica Woodbury, Rebeca Alicia VanderMerwe, and Adam, ShaiLynn and Jarrett Burrow; two sisters: Lucile and husband, Al Cathcart of Harlengen, Texas and Darlene and husband, Paul Garriott of Elizabeth, Indiana; one brother, Joe Royse and wife, Geneva of Scottsburg, Indiana; and a special daughter-in-law, Jane and husband, Bob Gawart of Granbury, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, June 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the Texhoma First Baptist Church with Laura Mae's brother-in-law, Rev. Paul Garriott and Bro. Larry Brace officiating. Interment will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery, Texhoma, Texas. Services are under the direction of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
