WHITELAW - Harriett Warner Bellino, 96, of 3027 Whitelaw Road West, Canastota (Whitelaw), died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at her home, following an early morning fire.
She was born on March 29, 1912, in Onondaga Hill, N.Y., the daughter of Clinton and Harriett Wernicker Whaley.
Harriett spent her early years in the Town of Fenner, attending the Mile Strip School. She lived most of her life in the Whitelaw area.
She enjoyed baking bread, her flower gardens, farming and her animals, and spending time with her family.
Harriett married John "Jack" Warner in 1930. John died in 1942. She later married Robert Bellino in 1945. Bob died on Jan. 23, 1982.
Surviving are six sons and four daughters-in-law, Edward and Lynn Warner of Rome, George and Catherine Warner of Munnsville, Lawrence Warner of Peterboro, John Warner of Whitelaw, James and Roberta Warner of Clockville, and Robert Sr., and Patricia Bellino of Whitelaw; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lucetta and Coe Barber of Kirkville, and Judy and John Pinard of Whitelaw; more than 100 grandchildren spanning five generations, including William Bellino, Robert Bellino Jr., David Bellino, Jeffrey Bellino, Daniel Bellino and Steven Bellino; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Harriett was predeceased by a son, Roger Warner; three daughters, Kathryn Humennyj, Joyce Warner, and Harriett Bellino; and several brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., Canastota. The Rev. Robert A. Bromfield will officiate. Burial will be in Peterboro Cemetery, Peterboro, N.Y. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home, 201 James St., Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to the Canastota Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 81, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
