Mr. James Powell, 60 years old, died Saturday afternoon at 3 O'clock at his home in Hooper Heights. Mr. Powell became ill from being overheated a few days ago and pneumonia which developed Friday night caused his death. He was born in Mercer County but has spent a good part of his life in Perryville where he had many friends. He was married in 1893 to Miss Laura Key, who died a number of years ago, and in 1918 he married Miss Addie M. League, who survives him. Others who survive are one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Pulliam; two brothers, L.C. Powell of Barston, Calif. and C. W. Powell of Indio, Calif., and two grand-children. The funeral of Mr. Powell has been postponed to await arrival of relatives. The time will be announced later.
