Thomas Ryan was the inventer of Canadian 5-Pin Bowling in the early 1900's. The bowling ball is small enough to fit in the palm of one's hand, and the bowling pins have rubber rings around them, and have point values (5 for the center pin, 3 for the two on either side of the center pin, and 2 for end pins behind the 3 point pins; an all strike game equeals 450 points). He was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1971.
