ROBINSON, Mae Serena, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 17th, 2005. Mae was born April 11th, 1922 in Magnum, Kentucky. After completing high school, Mae attended Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. In August 1950, she married William Biddle (W.B.) Robinson. She and Bill lived in Kentucky, then later moved to Tennessee. In 1970, they moved their family to Daytona Beach. They owned and operated hotels in the Daytona Beach Shores and Ponce Inlet area up until the late 1980's. Mae was a wonderful wife and mother. Her biggest joy was her family. She loved to cook Sunday dinners for her family. This loving tradition continued through the years until recently when she took ill. Mae was a member of First Baptist Church, Daytona Beach. She taught children and youth Sunday School and was very actively involved in the Women's Missionary Union (WMU) and all its mission programs. Mae was preceded by her mother, Roxie Wesley Canada and her father, Albert Clinton Wesley. Mae is survived by her husband, W. B. (Daddy Bill) Robinson; 1 daughter; Margaret Robinson Sorrells of Dallas, Texas; 4 sons: Billy (and Sharon) Robinson of Dallas, Jim Robinson (and Susan) Robinson, of Littleton, Colorado, Tom Robinson (and Cindy) of Orlando Beach, Florida and John Robinson of Port Orange, Florida. She is survived by 9 grandchildren (Phillip Sorrells, Susan Sorrells, Casey Weber, Megan Newburn, Celeste Dilley, Heathter Mather, Rachel Zimmer, Lindsey Fidler, Erica Robinson) and 7 great grandchildren (Ryan, Rio, Autumn, Heather, Kaileigh and Brock), and two brothers: Orville Wesley of Scottsdale, Arizona and Hoy Wesley of Sebring, Florida. Funeral services were Saturday, February 26th, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Sammie Adkins officiating. Visitation was Saturday, February 26th, at 10:00 a.m. at lake Cumberland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Robinson Gospel Ministries, C/o Billy Robinson 1571 Dublin Circle, Grapevine, Texas, 76051. Somerset Obits
