Mrs. Agnes Steele Answers Death Call
The summons of the grim reaper was answered on Sunday morning at 10 o'clock by Mrs. Agnes Archibald Steele, 67 years old, at her home, 113 Kennedy avenue, following an illness from a complication of ailments over a period of about six months and from which she was bedfast only a few days. Mrs. Steele was the widow of James Steele who died in 1901. She was born in Scotland and for the past 25 years was a resident of this city and one of its most widely known and highly respected women. She came to this city from Houtzdale, Pa.
Mrs. Steele is survived by five sons and four daughters. James, Thomas and David Steele, Mrs. Sadie Westerberg, Mrs. Bess Causer and Mrs. Mary Williamson, all of this city, John Steele, of Donora, Pa., William Steele, of Youngstown O, and Mrs. Grace McGilton of Los Angeles, Calif., and by sixteen grandchildren and by the following brothers and sisters: Thomas Archibald, of this city, David and Charles Archibald, of Brewster, O., Mrs. Henry Peden, of Homestead, and Mrs. John Tippett, of Leechburg.
Mrs. Steele was a con...tent member of the First Presbyterian church, this city. The funeral services will be conducted by her former pastor, the Rev. W. Frank Silveus, at the family home tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock. Burial will be private on Wednesday morning at Richland cemetery, Dravosburg.
