Reuben HARRISON was born 1760 in Craven County, SC, and married Sarah BURGE , daughter of Richard BURGE and Francis (Raines) BURGE , in 1782 (1st wife).
He appeared on the census of 1790 at CamDen Dist., Fairfield County, South Carolina (Reuben Harrison, 6 in family, 11 slaves).
He and Sarah BURGE DEED Reuben Harrison and wife Sarah to William Dunavant 200 acres for $600 on S.W. siDe of the Wateree River . . . Thorn Pine Creek . . . Reuben signed, Sarah made her mark on 29 Mar 1802 at Fairfield County, SC.
He gave his son-in-law, husband of Nancy Ann HARRISON a GIFT DEED: I, Reuben HARRISON, for love and affection, I bear to Ann ROCHELLE the wife of Anderson ROCHELLE and sgn 20 Dec. 1825 -- Deed for land of 818 1/2 acres on Morrison Creek of Broad River (Western Fairfield) by the lands of Reuben HARRISON, Thomas STARK, Darrell FORD, Willis WHITAKER and Austin F. PEAY . . . said lands to be held by Ann and Anderson ROCHELLE as long as they live and at their Death, entailed to their children: Mary Ann ROCHELLE, Sarah E. ROCHELLE, James HARRISON ROCHELLE; and to other children Anderson ROCHELLE has by his wife, Ann ROCHELLE. Wit: Alex. McCASKILL and Francis B. HARRISON on 20 Dec 1825 at Fairfield County, SC.
He appeared on the census of 1830 at Fairfield County, South Carolina (U.S. census lists James Rochelle, Anderson Rochelle, Reuben Harrison).
He married Nancy REYNOLDS after 1 Nov 1834 at Fairfield County, South Carolina (2nd wife: Transcript copy of Marriage InDenture between Reuben Harrison and Nancy Reynolds Fairfield County Deed Book LL, beginning on Page 34, RecorDed Jany 8th 1835).
He died before 24 Jun 1836 at Fairfield County, South Carolina and was buried circa 15 May 1835 at Dutchman's Creek, Fairfield County, South Carolina. (Large, vaulted tomb was moved to Longtown Presbyterian Church Ceme. when Duke Power Co. built dam and Lake Wateree on Harrison survey.)
He died a few months after his re-marriage (will written Mar. 13, 1835; proven in court June 24, 1836). Nancy then married Vincent Bell.
