Reuben Harrison was originally buried near the banks of the Wateree River. When the dam was built that created Lake Wateree, Reuben's great-grandson John Douglass Harrison moved the tomb and the remains of his great-grandparents to the family plot at Longtown Presbyterian Church.

He died before 24 Jun 1836 at Fairfield County, South Carolina and was buried circa 15 May 1835 at Dutchman's Creek, Fairfield County, South Carolina. (Large, vaulted tomb was moved to Longtown Presbyterian Church Ceme. when Duke Power Co. built dam and Lake Wateree on Harrison survey.)
He died a few months after his re-marriage (will written Mar. 13, 1835; proven in court June 24, 1836). Nancy then married Vincent Bell.
