Frank Alexander "Cut" Cutsinger, 91, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Frank Glenville and Bessie Edith (McGuire) Cutsinger.
He was born May 31, 1916 in Joplin, Missouri and died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry.
He and his family moved several times in his early years, living in Joplin, Missouri, Pitcher, Oklahoma and Elmira, Kansas before settling in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
It was while living in Tonkawa that he met his future wife, Hazel Marie Parrick, daughter of Robert Jason and Eva May "Evie" (Bay) Parrick.
Frank and Hazel married in 1932 in Perry, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Kay County, near his parents, while Frank attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College on a football scholarship from 1934-1935.
Frank was an avid sportsman and as a young man participated in numerous sports. In 1935, he was the Oklahoma A.A.U. Golden Gloves Heavyweight Boxing Champion.
After the funding ran out, Frank quit school and the family moved to Perry, Oklahoma in 1936. He was drafted into the military and assigned just before the declaration of the end of World War II.
Frank owned and operated Cutsinger Pipe, Tool and Nipple Supply. He also was a carpenter and built their home north of town. He raised chickens, winning several breeding championships.
Frank and Hazel were very active in their community and in their support of Perry's wrestling program. He was recognized as an annual blood donor, was a sports mentor and booster, a Teen Town chaperone and active in the Perry Camp Fire and Boy Scouts programs.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Frank enjoyed hunting, but his true love was fishing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Grace Hill Memorial Pavilion in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Rev. Roy Jones will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry.
Frank is survived by his wife of 75 years, Hazel; one daughter, Pastor Sally Anne Weiesnbach, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one brother, Bob Cutsinger, of West Plains, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Sharee Wells, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Susun Wilkinson, of Atlanta, Georgia, Sam Stokes, of Seattle, Washington, Steve Cutsinger, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Merlene Wolfe, of Ada, Oklahoma, Darla Ritter, of Mulhall, Oklahoma and Avery Reeder, of Perry, Oklahoma; nine great-grandchildren, Ashlea Stokes, Michael Stokes and Matthew Stokes, all of Seattle, Washington, Mitch Wolfe and Michaela Wolfe, both of Ada, Oklahoma, Tahra Pando of Inola, Oklahoma, Travis Ritter, of Mulhall, Oklahoma, Lindsey Reeder and Chase Reeder, both of Perry, Oklahoma; one great-great-grandchild; six of his wife's siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of neighbors and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bessie Cutsinger; one brother, Pete Cutsinger; and his beloved son, Frank Glen "Brother" Cutsinger.
