Army Staff Sgt. Kevin C. Roberts, 25, of Farmington, N.M.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; died May 7 in Sabari District, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. Military funeral for Staff Sgt. Roberts was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel, Center, with the Rev. James Vaughn, the Rev. Liz Wold and the Rev. Don Windham officiating. Burial was in West Hamilton Cemetery, Shelbyville. Born May 27, 1982, in Farmington, N.M., he was the son of Milton C. and Gerri Sue Sisson Roberts. He was a member of the LaPlata Voluntary Fire Department. He graduated from Farmington High School in 2000 and joined the U.S. Army in 2001, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Shelbyville. Survivors include his wife, Donnice Yates Roberts of Fort Campbell; children, Caehlen and Keeghan Roberts of Fort Campbell; parents, Milton C. and Gerri Sue Roberts of Farmington; brothers, Spc.
