Jacob Kuebler was born to Johann George and Katherina (Frank) Kuebler in Louisville, Kentucky. He was christened at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jacob was employed as a iron moulder in 1880. He married Amelia Morast who was divorced from Jacob's brother, George, about 1881 in Chicago. He later adopted Amelia's daughter by George, Etta R., and they changed her name to Maud I. Kuebler.
Jacob and Amelia lived for many years in Chicago where Jacob was a policeman. He was later employed as an investigator for a coal company. The family lived at 1324 Eddy Street for a number of years. After retirement, Jacob and Amelia moved to Escondido township where their son Charles had settled on land off Bear Valley Road.
Jacob became a much beloved resident in the vicinity of Lake Wohlford where he was known for his hospitality and generosity. He was affectionately called "Grandpa." He was survived by three daughters: Maude Lamb, Mrs Lewis Chapil, and Mrs Lynn Bartlett, and two sons: Charles R. and Frank E. Kuebler. Also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Alhiser Mortuary Chapel. Cremation followed at Cypress View Crematory.
