Mr. George Lenard Fowler, born March 30, 1870 in Hickory Valley, Tenn, died Feb. 22, 1936. Mr. Fowler moved to Oklahoma in 1901, locating at Gans, then to Haskell County, where he has since made his home. He was converted at the age of 15 years, and united with the Methodist Church. He united with the Missionary Baptist Church in 1908 and has since been a devoted member and church worker.
Mr. Fowler and Miss Emily Martin were united in marriage in 1904 at Havana and to this union was born three children, Orble, Oather and Amos Fowler. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Russell Trammell at the Baptist Church Saturday afternoon with interment in the Whitefield Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home. The deceased is survived by his wife and two sons, Orbie and Amos, two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Spessard of San Bois and Mrs. Willie Webb of Horatio, Ark., and one brother, Floyd Fowler of Altus.
