ABERDEEN Erskine McAllister, 82, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a farmer and a mechanic. He earned several degrees in mechanics and taught mechanics. He also was a craftsman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hebron M.B. Church with the Rev. George Vance officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Lee King McAllister of Aberdeen; nine daughters, Oletha Manning and her husband, Leon, Angie Kendrick, and Marion Evans and her husband, Vincent, all of Aberdeen; Jernice McAllister and Calvin, Indy Buford and her husband, Tony, Bernice Garth and Alma Marie McAllister, all of Indianapolis, Ind., Patricia Shelton and her husband, Lenis, of Friendship, Texas, and Annie McAllister and Gary of Columbus, Ohio; four sons, Erskine McAllister Jr. and his wife, Tomoko, of Shreveport, La., and Nelson McAllister and his wife, Estelle, Ray McAllister and his wife, Marie, and Patrick McAllister and his wife, Carolyn, all of Indianapolis; one niece, Ollie Velma Gunn of Memphis; one nephew, Willie McAllister and his wife, Virginia, of Chicago; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. A wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.
