Tippecanoe, May 30. --- Frances, wife of John Q. Adams, died at her home in Jefferson township, Fayette county, Pa., at 1 o'clock, a. m., Friday, May 30, 1902 after a painful and lingering illness of several weeks.

The deceased was about 55 years old and one of the best known and most respected persons in the community in which she lived. She had been a consistent member of the M. E. church from childhood and was active in church work, being president of the Ladies' Aid society of the Fairview church at the time of her death.

Mrs. Adams was a daughter of Joshua Stephens, deceased, late of Washington township. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Ada and one son, Curtis, also by her mother, Mrs. Amanda Stephens of Fayette City, one brother, Bentley Stephens of Washington township, one sister, Mrs. Sale Brown of Waltersburg and a large number of other relatives and friends. The deceased will be greatly missed.
