Carl Park, 72, of Maddensville died early this morning, Tuesday, May 17 1966, at 3:20 o'clock at his home. He had been seriously ill for the past four years. Born February 21, 1894, in Three Springs, he was a son of Clay and Alice (Hudson) Park. He was united in marriage to Fannie Lane of Springfield Township on March 3, 1915, in Saltillo, by the Rev. William H. Stoke of the Baptist Church.
His wife survives along with these children, Miss Meriam E. Park, Philadelphia, Mrs. Lorraine (Eloise) Swope, Orbisonia R.D. and Wayne Park, Maddensville. There are two grandchildren; Lester Swope and Dwight Swope, both of Orbisonia R.D.; and two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Swope and Jill Marie Reed. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ora Hess, Three Springs R.D.; Mrs. Margaret Fleck, Petersburg; Raymond Park and Mrs. Mary Peterson, both of Three Springs; Mrs. Lillian Baker, Saltillo; Mrs. Edith Park, Middletown; Harold Park and Max Park, both of Three Springs.
The deceased was a member of the Independent Calvary Baptist Church of Saltillo. During his lifetime he had been engaged in the occupation of farming.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, at 2 p.m. from the Ott funeral home, Orbisonia. The Rev. Richard H. Myers, his pastor, and the Rev. Paul S. Kibler, of the Three Springs Church of God charge, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Three Springs Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday and until the hour of the services on Friday. It is the request of the family that flowers be omitted and that contributions be made instead to the Huntingdon County Heart Association or the the Huntingdon County Unit, American Cancer Society.
