Birth: Oct. 21, 1822
Taliaferro County
Georgia, USA
Death: Feb. 12, 1896
Georgia, USA

John King married Nancy Elizabeth Sanford on February 4, 1845.

John King was born in what is now Taliaferro County Georgia and moved to Cains, GA (near Hog Mountain) Gwinnett County GA about 1850. John and his wife Nancy joined the Hog Mountain Baptist Church by letter on May 5, 1855 from Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, (Gwinnett County) Georgia. He was elected as deacon on August 20, 1859. John King was not, as thought by some, a charter member of Hog Mountain Baptist Church, which was organized in 1854. He was one of three trustees of Hog Mountain House before the existing Church was organized.

John King was the 10th and youngest child of Richard King and Rachel Dearman.

Richard King, son of Drury King, enlisted in 1775 as a substitute for his father as a private in Captain Williams' South Carolina Company in the Revolutionary War and served three months. Later he served in Captain Davis' Company. He then moved to Wayne County, North Carolina, and served three months in Col. Farmer's North Carolina Regiment and was in the battle of Eutaw Springs. He was also on Guard Duty at Hillsboro, North Carolina. He moved to Wilkes County, Georgia before 1790 and lived in Taliaferro County, Georgia until his death in 1853 at the age of 96 years old. Richard is buried in the King Cemetery located in Crawfordville, Georgia (Taliaferro County).

Richard King, (born: 1757 - died: 1853) married in October 1796 to Rachel Dearman (born: 1777 - died: 1863) they had ten children.
