Passing of a GOOD WOMAN
Mrs. Thomas Larkins passed away Friday evening at the homeo f her daughter, Mrs Lyford Kimball in Ruskin. Although Mrs. Larkins has been in ill health for a number of years her death came rather unexpectedly.
ELIZABETH BICE LARKINS
Elizabeth A. Bice was born in Ohio, Feb 6, 1862 and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs Rosa Kimball of Ruskin, Nebraska, May 18, 1928, making her age 66 years, 3 months and 12 days.
When she was three years old, the family moved to Winterset, Ia. residing there until 1870, and then came to Nebraska, settling in Hamilton County.
On Dec. 6, 1876 she was married at Hastings, Nebr to Thomas B. Larkins, making their first home near Aurora. Five children blessed this home, two boys and three girls: Wm. J Larkins of Dover, Okla., Mrs. Rosa Kimball of Ruskin, Nebr., Mrs Minnie Dull of Eckley, Color., Mrs Ina Stuck of Nora, Nebr., and John W. Larkins of Nora, Nebr.
Except for a few years in No. Dakota and Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Larkins have lived in Thayer and Nuckolls counties.
Mrs. Larkins untied with the Methodist church when 14 years old, and was loyal t o her church and to her Master. For a number of years she has been deprived the pleasure of church attendance which she deeply regretted. She was an ideal wife and mother and made many friends wherever she went.
Besides her husband and children, she leaves one brother. Alonza W Bice of Carleton, Mebr. and one sister, Mrs Minda Loochen of Pomona, California. Twenty grandchildren gladdened her heart.
The services were held frm the Nora Methodist Church by the pastor, Rev. W. H. Mills, assisted by Rev. J.H. Fowler, a former pastor now at McCool (McCook). The choir sang, "No Night There", "Beautiful Garden of Prayer", and "Going Down the Valley". Many relatives attended the services, a number from a distance.
Interment was made at the Nora cemetery.
The pall bearers were: L.J. Rouse, O.Bucnell, T.C. Shipman, U.G. Dillon, John Worman, Bert Smith, David Shafter, Jesse Sykes.
