Democratic Senator from the Twentieth district composed of Travis, Williamson and Burnet counties, was born in Burnet county, Texas. February 24, 1854; he is a graduate from the Texas Medical College and Medical Department of Vanderbilt University, and for years past a leading practitioner of Marble Falls, Texas.
He was married at Rockvale, Texas, October 17, 1888, to Miss Ellen Francis, daughter of J. L and Sarah M. Francis, of Marble Falls, and has three children: Richard Reid, Alma and Lois.
Senator Yett is a member of the M. E. Church, South.
He has always been a Democrat. He is Chairman of the Committee on Public Buildings and Grounds and a member of the following Senate committees: Commerce and Manufactures, State Asylums, Finance, Penitentiaries, Towns and City Corporations, Enrolled Bills, Public Health, General Land Office, and Military Affairs.
