June James, 82, formerly of Sikeston, died Jan. 29, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL
Born July 16, 1922, in Chickasha, OK, daughter of the late Fred and Iva Mercer Baugher, she trained in St. Louis during World War II to be a machinist and later worked at Hahs Machine Shop in Sikeston. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Sikeston, where she taught Sunday school for many years in the Youth Department. She was also a former Brownie Troop leader in Sikeston. In 1967, the family moved from Sikeston to their farm near Millersville and in 1998, they moved to Jackson.
On June 27, 1943, in Sikeston, she married Cecil W. James who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: one son, Bill James; three daughters, Patsy Parmeter, Barbara Schilling, Glenda Cobb; three brothers, Larry Baugher, Jerry Baugher, Fred Baugher; two sisters, Lorene Cook, Betty Wesson; and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation was at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, where services were held with The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.
Grave side committal service followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
