She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church and was one of the founders of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in 1947. She was preceded in death by her parents Oliver Perry and Susan Loretta Aytes; son Leroy Potter; sisters Josie Melton, Beatrice Howard, Mayme Matthews and Bernice and Shirley Davis; and brother Clayton Aytes.
