JANE POLLOCK OBITUARY

Jane Elizabeth Brown Pollock transitioned from earthly body to eternal spirit April 3, 2023, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, TN after a long progressive battle with multiple connective tissue disorders.

Jane was born March 12, 1947, to J.D. Brown and Etta Lee Hendrix Brown in Bono, AR. Her childhood included tasks and chores on the farm and helping to care for her siblings. Countless hours were spent serving as pianist for church and revivals where she assisted her stepfather, Jess Pratt. In addition to serving as church pianist and varied other church events, she played for much loved gospel singings which were sometimes broadcast on the local television station.

Graduating from Bono High School as Valedictorian in 1965, Jane married J. C. Coomer later that fall. Ms. Melton's School of Modern Business, Jonesboro, AR, prepared her for a career in insurance where she started with Metropolitan Insurance Company. A successful career path with Charles Galen Pollock whom she married in 1975, was established and led to the founding of Pollock Insurance Consultants in 1989. As a lead life insurance producer for Travelers Insurance and The Hartford, the business became increasingly recognized and successful as Jane was well known for her personal interest and care for the varied client base through exceptional service.

Jane considered her greatest accomplishment to be the raising of her sons, ensuring that both received the best education and opportunities possible. As a member of The United Methodist Church, she had great compassion for helping to care for her elders in their time of need.

She is survived by her three sons, Sean Allen Pollock (Ellen) of Lady Lake, FL, Gregory Don Pollock (Ashley) of Bartlett, TN, and Hikojiro Kawai of Japan; two grandchildren, Phoebe Lynn Pollock and Phoenix Ridge Pollock, her siblings, Kathy Gibson (Larry) of Jonesboro, AR, Jim Pratt of Converse, LA, and Phyllis Holmes (Mark) of Broken Arrow, OK

Jane donated her body to science. In the future, a private burial will occur at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bono, AR. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Jane's most recent quotes from social media.

"Love is never wasted,

for its value does not rest upon reciprocity."

-C.S. Lewis

Power of Empathy:

I'm in it with you.

I'm not here to fix you.

I'm not here to feel it for you.

I'm here to feel "With" you

and let you know you're

NOT ALONE.

by Brene Brown

Be Careful:

Be careful not to dehumanize people you disagree with.

In our self-righteousness, we can easily become the very things we dislike in others.
