ELLABELL – Raymond ‘Ray' Blitch, 44, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Bryan County and a former employee of Quality containers in Savannah. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Strickland Blitch, Ellabell; two daughters, Elizabeth Mae Blitch and Janice Lorie Blitch, both of Ellabell; four sisters, Mrs. Anne Stanley, Springfield, Mrs. Dorothy Strickland, Glennville, Mrs. Glenda Dasher, Guyton, and Mrs. Linda Strickland, Claxton; four brothers, Roy F. Blitch, Stilson, Earl E. Blitch, Tacoma, Wash., Thomas Cleveland Blitch, Guyton, and John Richard Blitch, Ellabell; and his mother, Mrs. Maggie Beasley Blitch, Ellabell. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Morrison Funeral Home with the Rev. C. M. Butler officiating. Burial will be in the Ellabell Methodist Church cemetery.
