Richard Wayne Piner, 58, husband of Nancy (Bryant) Piner of Staunton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2008, in the Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, Texas. He was born March 5, 1950, in Augusta County, a son of the late William and Margaret (Gregory) Piner. Mr. Piner was employed as a truck driver by Lawrence Transportation in Roanoke.
In addition to his wife of 19 years, family includes two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jamy Brentlinger of Greenville and Kevin and Lisa Bartley of Staunton; three daughters and a son-in-law, Teresa McCray and her partner, Tim Conner, of Staunton, Lynn-Dee and Charles Lee Morris of Staunton and Becky Hise of Waynesboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Betty Piner of Greenville and Floyd and Doris Piner of Churchville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and John Cook of Fort Smith, Ark., and Linda and Allen Acord of Churchville; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jessie Piner and J.R. Melton; a sister, Lydia Cash; and a special son, Bradley Scott Piner.
