Newton A. Vance, of 3121 S. Second St., died at 10:30 p. m. yesterday at his residence, following a long illness. He was 62 years old. Mr. Vance was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; two sons, Harold Miller, and Kenneth Vance, both of Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Troyeck, Decature; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Zapf, Compton, Calif.; a brother Walter, Virden; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to Ellinger & Kunz funeral home.
