Hector served as a Sergeant on B-24J (#42-95611), 113th Base Unit, Charleston Army Airfield, South Carolina, U.S. Army Air Force, during World War II.

He resided in Schuylkill County, County, Pennsylvania prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on January 21, 1944 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Locomotive firemen and also as Married.

Hector died in the "Line Of Duty" when his bomber crashed into the Atlantic, sixty-eight miles southeast of the air base.
