He was an engineer for DeLaval in Trenton, NJ and a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran. He was responsible for saving the lives of 13 men on the USS Bennington when the engine room exploded. He was honored with a Commendation Ribbon and the Navy & Marine Corps Medal for heroism. He was a member of the Ewing Kiwanis, a mason and the V.F.W. Post 7298.
