Born Rudolph Buehler (probably in Marion County KS), he was adopted by William and Caroline (Wall) Penner. The family moved about 1900 to Deep Creek township in Oklahoma, where they lived close to the family of Michael (memorial# 92908701) and Eva (memorial# 92908694) Doberstein. Both families moved to Fresno, and Ralph married their daughter Elsie (1896-1982). They had one daughter of their own - Evelyn Joy Penner.
