--Opal Pearl Agee, 81, of Kirksville, Missouri died Monday evening (July 17, 1995) at the Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri.
---She was born December 7, 1913 in Elmer, Missouri the daughter of Jimmy and Sarah Ethel (Bell) Allen. On February 7, 1931 in Kirksville, Missouri she married James Walter Agee who preceded her in death on March 28, 1963.
---Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Richard Agee in 1994; one grandson; one sister and four brothers.
---She is survived by one son, Wayne Agee and wife Donna of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Anna Bell Miller and husband Cletus of Green Castle, Missouri, Sheryl Skinner and husband Jerry of St. Charles, Missouri and Pat Carter and husband Vernon of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Agee of Council Bluffs, Iowa; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman Allen of Atlanta, Missouri; one sister, Coleen Huggins and husband Bill of Holden, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Allen of Elmer, Missouri and Hazel Tipton and husband Henry of Jefferson City, Missouri; one brother-in-law Artie Gross of Purdin, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
---She was raised in the Elmer, Missouri area and attended the Elmer school. After her marriage she and her husband farmed in Macon County and Adair County. In 1957 they moved to Kirksville, Missouri where she worked as a housekeeper in several households and also at the Shamrock Inn.
---She was a member of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church in Kirksville, Missouri.
---She enjoyed her family and her vegetable garden.
---Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday (July 21, 1995) at the Hamilton Street Baptist Church with the Reverend Ernest Deatrick and Reverend Terry Hunsaker officiating. Music will be provided by John David Monroe singing "In the Garden" and "Precious Memories" accompanied by Cheryl Newland, organist. Congregational hymn will be "The Old Rugged Cross." Burial will be in the Elmer Cemetery in Elmer, Missouri.
---Pallbearers will be Bruce Agee, Robert Agee, Wade Miller, Trent Miller, Rodney Skinner and Shane Smith.
---Honorary pallbearers will be Larry O'Hara, Bobby Orr and Robert Humphrey.
---Visitation is in progress and the family will received friends from 5:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening (July 20, 1995) at the Fohn Funeral Home, 402 N. Elson.
---Those who wish to express their sympathy in the form of a contribution may do so to the Hamilton Street Baptist Church. Contributions may be left at or sent to the Fohn Funeral Home, PO Box 322, Kirksville, Missouri 63501.
