Jesse "Skip" Skipski Age 97 of Elsmere, DE, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004 at home.

Skip was a City of Wilmington fireman, retiring in 1963 after 20 years of service.

He was proud of being the oldest retiree from the department.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Church and the Claymore, Mid-county, and Fraims senior centers.

He especially like directing variety and minstrel shows for the benefit of churches, schools and senior centers.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Elizabeth (Joachimowski) Skipski; daughters, Patricia Mattia and her husband, Michael, of Wilmington and Carolyn Bonvetti and her husband, Richard, of Wilmington and Diane Foraker and her husband, Charles, of FL.

Other survivors include 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Barczewski of Wilmington.

Mass will be offered at 10 am on Friday, October 15, at the Corpus Christi Church in Elsmere, where visitation will be from 9-10 am.

Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Corpus Christi Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere, DE 19804; or to Heartland Hospice, 261 Chapman Rd., Suite 100, Newark, DE 19702.
