Charleston Gazette Tuesday March 29 1960

Whitten, Roma-71, of Myra, Lincoln County, died Monday morning at his home after an illness of a few months. He was a retired farmer and a World War I veteran.
Surviving are his wife Lola; one son, Brady of Ft. Knox, Ky; four daughters, Mrs Jack Beaver of Azusa Calif., Mrs Ilene Sowards, Mrs Kathelen Fan and Mrs Ivadean Sniffer of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Bernie Whitten of Hamlin; four sisters, Mrs Cora McMellan of Sweetland, Mrs Maude Cooper of Hamlin, Mrs Etter Lovejoy of Huntington and Mrs Florence Abbott of Hurricane; Mrs Eunice Webb of Nellis; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palermo Methodist Church by Rev Ebb Cummings. Burial will be in Goldsberry Cemetery at Sias. The body will remain at Koontz Funeral Home in Hamlin until service time.
